About Barb

Barb is an artist who ‘paints for the Lord’.  She can be found in her home studio listening to worship music and painting.  As she works on her acrylic paintings  she meditates on God’s word and prays.  This has been a great source of inspiration for her  and also a great source of peace as she juggles a large household of nine children.   She strives to portray this peace and inspiration in her paintings which depict the Canadian landscape with all of its beauty, and children playing or enjoying God’s creation.

Barb received her training at the Alberta College of Art and went on and continued her studies by visiting galleries, museums, and studying art books and countless art magazines and immersing herself in God’s creation and observing and painting outdoors.

She was juried in and exhibited with the Calgary chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists in 1984, and has continued to paint intermittently while raising her children.  At the turn of the millennium as her children got older she pursued her art once again  and has produced numerous paintings in the last few years; entering more juried shows and gaining acceptance in the local and national art community.

Her paintings are in private collections across Canada and also in the US.

In 2007 a dream was realized by the opening of her own fine art gallery and studio.  A portion of her home was converted and  “Art for the Lord” gallery and studio opened on May 20, 2007.

Please see the Calendar link for the upcoming shows and exhibitions in her new studio.
