
The doors were straight and rust-free, so they only needed stripping, sanding and a coat of primer. I stripped the interior side as well because the "grain" stamped into the metal was covered up from too many coats of paint. The doors weigh less than half of what they did before removing the hardware, which makes them easy to work on. After hanging them on the shell, they will be block sanded and painted before the hardware is reinstalled. New door handles and locks will be installed to replace the pitted originals.
