Another view of the Steady rest.

The top nuts have been loosened since I was removing the vase to empty the shavings and check the hollowing shape.

In the background is the home made dust collector.

Home made lathe steady.

This steady rest holds long turnings. This is an Elm vase about 24 inches tall that weighed close to 40 lbs when it was first mounted.

The roller wheels are from Sport Mart. The store will give them away if you only want a few. I got three mismatched ones and gave the fellow $5 for his trouble
