Acton House is a country home with three acres and provides the solitude people are looking for in this hectic world. Unwind from a hectic day to the sight and sounds of birds while relaxing on the verandah or the gazebo and enjoying being pampered by Alleyne with a quiet cup of tea and some special freshly baked treats. Enjoy the quiet peaceful atmosphere of this beautifully landscaped yard.
You have your choice of two bedrooms each with private baths and your own private sitting room. The Anne of Green Gables room - appropriately named for its décor has a comfy queen bed and an ensuite bathroom. Love birds; stay in the Cardinal Room and enjoy a king bed with a private bathroom. The sitting room has a library filled with books on Canada and birds and wildlife; listen to quiet music and look out over the garden filled with old-fashioned plants.
Dreams do come true! Barry and Alleyne moved to the Merrickville/Kemptville area just four years ago to fulfill Alleyne’s 20 year-long dream of opening and running a Bed and Breakfast. Alleyne’s love of people along with her love of the artistry of preparing and presenting wonderful meals led her down this path. Gardening in the summer; quilting in the winter and feeding the birds all year long just perfectly matches up with running a bed and breakfast.

Of course we are only 5 minutes from the Rideau Walking Trail as well. Down to Earth Gardens just a short drive, has a newly acquired 100 acres where birds abound.
