| Erkki-Sven Tüür Early Works | ||
| Last Update: November 15, 2000 | ||
| Erkki-Sven Tüür's earliest
works for conventional classical music ensembles date from the period 1980-1984 during
which he completed his composition studies at the Tallinn Conservatory of Music. These
compositions could also be described as student works and it is probably for this reason
that they have been excluded from the composer's official works list. One exception here
is the Wind Quintet from 1984 which was subsequently retitled as
Architectonics I and can be found on the Official Chamber Works
list under the latter title. This became the initial work of the Architectonics
series of compositions for varying forces of chamber ensembles. With the exception
of the Wind Quintet/Architectonics I and Ritual
I, none of the works below have been released as commercial recordings. In
order to complete the information on this page I am searching for information on further
details of each work's character and duration, details of world premiere performers and
locations, publishers and other information of interest. If you have any additional
information, contributions or comments you would like to make, you can contact me via
