Recorded at the Konserthuset, Stockholm, Sweden on June 6-11, 1996. Originally released in 1997 as Searching for Roots. This is a 2002 reissue of the exact same album with a slightly different inside cover which is hidden within the slide-off cardboard sleeve. The timings of the compositions have been adjusted to not include the silences between the tracks.

Searching for Roots was commissioned by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and was premiered on March 28, 1991 in Helsinki, Finland by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Eri Klas.
Insula Deserta was commissioned by the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra and was premiered on October 8, 1989 in Kokkola, Finland by the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Juha Kangas.
Zeitraum was commissioned by Estonian Radio and was premiered on March 27, 1992 in Tallinn, Estonia by the Estonian State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Arvo Volmer.
