Adam Mabee's Minimalist Recreational Home Page Adam's Renowned Cookie Recipes The general philosophy: flavour and simplicity. Nothing fancy - shapes are mostly irrelevant. Nothing especially complex - I like to be able to produce a large quantity in a relatively short time. So these are mostly drop cookies, though some are rolled into balls before baking. I frequently cheat, and use a tool like a miniature ice cream scoop. (Thanks, Santa). I often put ingredients together in an unconventional order - especially baking soda, which I add in to the wet ingredients, rather than sifting it into the flour and adding it last. I've never had any trouble doing this, but maybe it does affect the end product. Somehow, I have the idea that small cookies are more, umm, elegant, or something. So my scoop only holds a bit less than a tablespoon. The estimated number of cookies made from these recipes reflects that; my production numbers may be higher than most peoples'. I got started doing this close to a decade ago. I can't remember exactly how it started, but it was likely in trying to get around searching for Christmas presents for people. Instead of shopping, I started baking. This has now become something of a tradition - I really only buy presents for kids (because I still enjoy that). The last couple of years, I have baked over two thousand cookies for Christmas. Cookies have become my default gift for other occasions as well, particularly as thank-yous. In fact, this seems to have gotten me into an interesting barter situation as well :-) More Stuff: Still to some, once I pull it all out of my other page: cat pictures and some links.
