Burial Ground
By Marylin Houle
Below the cliff at Dundurn Park
Behind the old cock fighting place
A tree stands, and right at its base
Lies a graveyard making a mark
And spirits who died in the dark
Animals don't build busy streets
Or ask to be marked with tire streaks
So some rest beneath the old bark
And in the Summerland they roam
Tobacco is laid for their souls
A gift from their wondrous saviour April,
who helps bring them back home
By all of the love she bestows
Treating such callous behavior
