I'm very sorry about your loss of Ila especially under such questionable circumstances. Thank you for your excellent words of advice re vet visits, I think everyone who reads your account of what happened will be more 'proactive' in future and insist on knowing what the proposed course of action is, why this treatment, if there are side effects and are there alternatives. If I ever have to go to a 'new' vet, I will speak up on arrival. - I'm sorry Ila's life was cut short but happy she had her time with someone who loved her.

May the strength, love, and friendship that you gained from Ila live on in you. May it reach out and inspire others as much as she inspired you. And may the healing that she offered you reach out through you and touch many others.

The shadows shrieked and the moon cast a gentle smile upon the womb, and as it gave birth, a magnificent form emerged. The fair folk knew the shining brow had arrived. Existence is in the memory. My love to the White Flame and to April.

Thank you for sharing your website, April. I was sorry to hear of Ila's untimely death, and hope you will one day welcome another cat into your life. That was an interesting story about how you came to have Ila in your life. I've never heard of anyone abandoning a cat with a cat-sitter before, but at least Sarah left Ila with a loving responsible person. I'm glad Ila had a person like you to take her in and care for her for the rest of her life.

My Dear April, It warms my heart and encourages my soul to know that there are people like yourself who are working so hard to help others find and recover the dear precious beings that they are. What a wonderful resource you have. God bless. you and your work.

April, you've done an excellent job on this very special and unique site!  With Anura I feel that you are giving people a holistic view of abuse in that you try to show how all forms of abuse are related.  And you do cover all forms: abuse of children, of people by the medical establishment, of women, of us by society, of the Earth by humans in general, and more.  And then you bring it full circle by emphasizing the healing journey for all of us, humans as well as all beings of the Earth, and the Earth itself.   That's why this site is so important!
Thank you, and keep up the excellent work, April!

Just to say after looking over the site, I think it's great that you're doing this and I wish you the best. Alias does too! I'll let the other members know where to look!

This is a great site. I am happy to see the strong words and feelings not being oppressed. I identify with them and feel that the only way to heal the world is to expose the truth. The ugly truth that people make you swallow while holding their ugly bible in their hands and putting locks on their hearts. We should all do as much as April and her partner have here. Thank you. I have not been sexually abused as a child but, please know that some of us have come to these feelings in other ways and can support you entirely and passionately. And perhaps I just don't have the memories yet.

I have used your site as a source of guidance. I am still in the anger phase of my healing process. I am trying desperately to progress forward. I particularly liked reading the poetry and the different feelings and the phases the poetry portrayed.

I like your web site. I too see the frog as an image of the healing process. We as survivors of abuse transform from tadpoles to frogs, with all of the pain and stretching in between. I just wanted to thank you for the gift of talking about abuse, so often people are silent.
