The Live-in Caregiver Program:
and Home Care
The Canadian government established the Live-in Caregiver Program to address the
shortage of Canadian citizens/permanent residents that work in the care-giving
industry. Consequently, the program enables entities such as MPS Best-Care
Services to import caregivers from abroad to work in Canada.
A "Live-in caregiver" is defined as any person
operating within a private household in Canada to care for one (or multiple)
person (s) that is sick and/or disabled and/or elderly or an infant/young child.
The caregiver must meet the qualifications required of the
program: At least a six months training in a live-in caregiver program
from an accredited training center, and completion of a Canadian secondary
education equivalency. A minimum of one year of relevant work experience,
six months of which must be under the supervision of a single employer.
Caregivers:
The nannies are dedicated to providing premium care for
infants and young children, or children with special needs. The role of
the professional nanny is challenging and multi-faceted: Assisting with all
daily childcare tasks - meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, etc... -while
concurrently maintaining and enhancing a nurturing environment where the child
can enjoy optimal emotional, physical, and intellectual development. All
nannies registered with MPS Best-Care have been screened thoroughly for proper
training as well as high ethical standards. Best-Care nannies' purpose is
to enhance the well-being of your infant/child.
MPS Best-Care professional care givers have all had direct
experience with a wide range of patient care: Beside the elderly, this
includes those who are developmentally handicapped, severely disabled, those
afflicted with serious complications such as Alzheimer's, palliative and the
terminally ill. As indicated above, all of our caregivers have completed
certification from accredited training centers. The most common
qualifications among our caregivers are:
Registered Nurses
