Truth in Adoption

DM is a poet, musician, constitutional lawyer and accidental warrior. She has spent her life asking the oldest questions that philosophy asks: "Who am I?" & "Where do I come from?". Most people ask these questions at some point in their lives but for Marchand, like many adopted people, the questions are more than queries of the human condition. They are fundamental issues which 99.5% of the population take for granted. On November 13th and 14th 2007, Marchand represented the interests of adopted people's right to their own true identity before the Ontario Court of Appeal.

She is now seeking leave to the Supreme Court of Canada. Marchand has put her own legal career on hold to do bring this case to the courts, using the assets of the sale of her home to do so. The costs of photocopying alone could reach close to $50,000.00. If everyone who believes that people have a fundamental right to the recognition of their very real carnal existence – the doorway to their ancestors, donates $10 or more, - She is hoping people will make donations towards the $11,000 plus debt for costs she has already incurred for the Ontario Court of Appeal case - ,we should be able to reach our goal.

Notice of application for leave to appeal was filed on January 31, 2008 with the Supreme of Court of Canada...

Get the Message

It is time to send the mothers who gave birth and then were forced to give up their children – because they were abandoned by the their child's father or got pregnant by rape: It is not your fault and not your shame - it is society's shame. To those children conceived through rape or relinquished because their mothers made decisions and not choices, the message is: no matter how you came into this world you are a child of God and your existence should no longer be denied.
