About the Golf Historical Society of Canada

Our History
In May of 1988, Norm Moreau, Jack Rutherford, Bob Nutley and George Elliot got together with a few guys who enjoy golf, its lore and artifacts. They reasoned there must be other people who suffer from the same malady.

This meeting led to the formation of The Golf Historical Society of Canada. It was and still is, an informal group, that shares an interest in the books, clubs and memorabilia of the grand game. It is an excellent opportunity for golfers to meet other people who love to talk about the games history, swap and trade memorabilia and play an occasional round with some old 'Hickory Sticks'.

The G.H.S.C. is not a buy-and-sell group, but was formed to bring together Canadians interested in our heritage dating back to 1873, or earlier. Many members have private collections and enjoy sharing stories and information. In fact sharing is the foundation of the G.H.S.C.

Our Members
Anyone who loves the history, traditions, artifacts and the camaraderie of golf is encouraged to join the GHSC.
Whether you are interested in collecting memorabilia, reading, or just enjoying the fellowship that comes from sharing your enthusiasm, the GHSC is for you.
A membership brings you into a network that includes collectors and historians. You will also meet golfers, like yourself, who have a deep interest in golf lore and memorabilia
