Recently, I received information in thick packets from several very kind people. There is a story of another Brownell line, and also the Hogaboam family, who persisted in this spelling variation of Hogaboom. Currently, it is all being sifted and sorted and will ultimately appear in some configuration here, either as a part or full transcript, or integrated into the family tree below. Likely, it will be both.
Amendments
I have been corrected on the occupation of John Colborn(e) BROWNELL, who was not a Circuit Court Judge, but a Justice of the Peace.
In addition, in the book,Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry : a History 1794 - 1945, I learned that John BROWNELL, b: 22 Mar 1766 in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, d: 27 Dec 1808 in Moulinette, Ontario, was elected in 1808 as MP for Stormont Co., 5th Parliament. However, before he had much of a chance to shine (or not), he died. His tombstone is in St Lawrence Valley Union Cemetery, having been moved from the original graveyard, now under the waters of the St. Lawrence Seaway.
