All the links below lead to obituaries, death or funeral notices, mostly from newspapers, but all are free, although some sites may require you to register or allow cookies to be set. Some are for the current day only, some are archived for a week, a month, or more. Also included are death registers.
Please report any broken links, or a change in status, should a site start requesting payment for the full text of an obituary. Also, please send me the URLs for any other sources of obituaries available on-line at no charge.
If I use your links, I'll send you a REAL postcard.

A really neat and simple search utility for current obits, with the full text being searchable. Choose the day of the week and check Death Notices, Funeral Services, and Memorial Services, though the most returns resulted when I didn't make any choices. Enter any search terms in the boxes below.
Death notices are included. Obits listed were truncated and you are still advised that if you want the entire text of an obit, go buy a street issue. Yeah, that's practical 1,500 miles away. This isn't a national paper. I think they've perhaps backed off a bit on the lopping off of the obits.
