Background

Richard is a partner at Oculus, where he has worked with a core group of people since 1990. Originally starting in industrial design and special effects at Alias (aquired by Autodesk in 2006) and Side Effects, the group saw an emerging opportunity for solving complex business problems through the use of interactive 3D visualization. Early visualizations were created on SGI and SUN workstations, and current solutions range from multi-storey, multi-screen displays; to visualizations embedded in third-party desktop software and visualizations that run in standard web browsers.

Richard holds a Masters of Computer Science from University of Toronto (1999) as well as a Bachelors of Architecture with Minor in Computer Science (1990) and a Bachelors of Environmental Studies (1987) from University of Waterloo, Canada. He lives in Toronto with his family and cat.
