The Scarborough Chess Club is located at:

Birkdale Community Centre,

1299 Ellesmere Road ( between Midland Ave. & Brimley Rd. )

- easy TTC access : 15 min. walk from Ellesmere or Midland Light Rapid Transit station

The club meets on Thursdays from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m ( Closed in July and August, and between Christmas and New Years and in 2011-2 - some other closing dates are noted on the club website - www.scarboroughchessclub.ca ).

The Scarborough Community of Toronto Chess News & Views is the official newsletter of the Scarborough Chess Club. It is published twice monthly. The newsletter is edited by Bob Armstrong. For a free subscription to this newsletter, e-mail the editor.

Issue # 13-11, February 1, 2012 - URGENT - The SCC executive have contributed 2 articles that are very important to SCC Members. One is a change in the SCC Tournament Schedule; the other a notice on the qualification rules for the upcoming 2011-2 SCC Club Championship, for the Championship top section. Please make sure you read them!

Issue # 13-11 has, as was said, some important articles: SCC Tournament Schedule Change, by SCC Executive; SCC Club Championship Qualification Rules - Notice, by the SCC Executive; Rick's Chess Trivia, by columnist Rick Garel; 2011 Pinnacle Canadian Open Trivia Contest; and Express Your Inner Self! We also report on the first major tournament of the New Year, Tata Steel GM A, Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, with lots of key games from most rounds; SCC Falling Leaves Swiss; and SCC Jack Frost Swiss.
