Ice Trike

Ice Trike

The Ice Trike is similar in design to the daily driver with modified front to accept blades. It has a wheelbase of 40". It utilises my proven rear suspended swing arm. Suspension is set stiff with little deflection during pedaling. I machined a steering arm from aluminum and set the handlebars below the frame. The trike steers well however there are more parts than my other trikes. My other designs have steering arms direct from the axles. This is simpler and has less parts. The blades are from ice skates fitted to machined aluminum holders. The front pik brakes are operated by the left brake lever with the rear V brake operated by the the right brake lever. The piks cut approximately 1/2" into the ice. The trike has a mid idler, two separate chains and six speed close ratio rear freewheel. The seat (carbon fiber) is made from one of my molds. The rear wheel is 20" fitted with a studded tire.
