Any learning experience is only effective to the extent that we take the time to reflect on what we have learned. We must connect the dots by identifying linkages, implications and value to us. Without making these meaningful connections, we soon forget the content of most seminars and training programs.
Bill started Ascent Associates in 1993. Today Ascent works with selected partners across Canada on project teams to develop individual and team effectiveness.
Bill is a training designer, facilitator and coach with 20 years experience working with corporate and government clients as a sub-contractor for consulting firms in Canada and the US. He has a strong background in experiential education, program design, process facilitation and professional development training.
Some of the organizations he has worked with include IBM Global Services, CAA Insurance, CGI, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Ministry of Transportation (Ontario), Canada Post, Transport Canada, Ortho Biotec, SGS Research Labs and Bell Mobility.
A former management development consultant with Royal Trust, Bill has designed, written and delivered a wide range of management development training programs in the areas of leadership development, teambuilding, managing change, career transition and client service. He also draws upon his experiences as an outdoor educator with Outward Bound in bringing physical action-learning activities into his program designs and facilitation.
Bill holds a B.A. in Psychology and a masters degree from the University of Toronto. He has taught at schools and community colleges in Quebec and Ontario and has presented Continuing Education courses on team development and leadership at Trent University.
