Canadian cities would do well today to turn off a portion of their street lights and implement other energy-saving measures currently practised in Beijing (Darkness descends over the Forbidden City, July 9). By doing so, we may delay the kind of economic chaos stemming from energy shortages that now threatens China.
Indeed, it is sadly ironic that the photo accompanying the article shows an air conditioner with the model name of Chaos.
