On the same day that a front-page story in The Globe and Mail declares Climate Concerns Now Top Security And Health (Jan. 26), Denise Balkissoon sings the praises of an eight-nozzle bathroom shower system that ''rain[s] as much as 21 litres of water a minute down on your deserving body'' (Cleanliness, Meet Godliness -- ROB Magazine).

Given the amount of energy it takes to heat water, to say nothing of the resources required to treat water and pump it to and from our homes, let us hope that the $3000 price tag for the touted shower system dissuades even those who aren't too concerned about conservation from buying it.
