Not another film that starts with "Won't Get Fooled
Again"! Yes, but this one won me over by degrees. It's
about... stuff. A year in a prep school. Doing drugs. Falling in
love. Where you came from, and where you're going. Growth, I
suppose. And yet we manage to stay away from the usual gross-out
scenes you're likely to find in a "coming of age"
movie. This wasn't so easily pigeon holed. I'm still trying to
figure out why.
Maybe because it didn't try to be showy, nor did it play to
the base elements of the crowd.When you laugh, it's as likely to
be with someone as at someone. I think that's
good. Everything is tightly reined here, and by the end, I was
really glad I had seen it.
