It's been an almost-secret shame of mine that not only have I seen "Pretty Woman", but I liked it. I offer no excuse. Yes, it's a film about a hooker with a heart of gold. How good could that possibly be?

So when the same creative team reunited to make "Runaway Bride", I readied my cover by preparing a full-throated scoff in case anyone asked whether I'd seen it yet. But you know I'm dissembling. It was charming, and just the right thing for the mood I was in. Oh, and Joan Cusack is in it, and I'll see anything that she's in.
