The New Deal

06 Apr 2002

It's been a long time coming, but it's finally here -- The Front Page has undergone the graphic makeover that takes us from the substance of ink and rag to ethereal electronic medium. We look forward to hearing your response to the new type fonts and page layouts that we have been previewing for the last few months. The Front Page continues to be composed locally, but now instead of a 2 a.m. print run, we transmit a digital copy by wireless to receiving stations in the nation's capital and in the Colonies around the world. The change has not been an easy one, and as a result, some of the graphic work will continue to be done by the highly regarded DesignHaus until the transition is complete.

While our look has changed, we will continue to bring you the same high quality of articles that you have come to expect from The Front Page. In the months ahead, look for feature stories on the latest motion pictures in the Infotainment section. Contributing editors are already at work on stories for the Leisure that focus on the world outside of work. Note that we have moved travel reporting into its own section as part of the makeover in order to give it more room for full colour illustrations from our global network of artisans. And as usual, the ever popular Obituaries immediately follows the first section as before.

Now that we're on the Web, you can send your letters to the editor using the electric mail. Address it to The Editors, The Front Page, or click on the mail icon at the bottom of the Index.
