Home of Belmeade Acres Polled Dorsets, Owned and Operated by: Colleen Acres, Dwayne Bazinet & Family In 1990, we welcomed the first Polled Dorset sheep to our farm. Since that time we have expanded our numbers to a total of 30 brood ewes. The focus of our breeding program has been on improved carcass traits, greater mothering ability as well as out-of-season production. The Polled Dorset breed offers commercial sheep producers all of these advantages. We think you'll find our selections for replacement ewes and/or stud rams will meet with your favourable approval. Animals originating from the Belmeade Acres flock have been sold coast to coast across Canada, into the US and Mexico. Our local repeat buyers who continue to choose Belmeade Acres Polled Dorsets know that we won't sell them anything we wouldn't want to keep for ourselves. In 1997 we purchased Maple Meadow Farms, providing us with the opportunity to include three more sheep breeds under our management. We are excited with the challenges of expanding our flock to over 400 ewes with three additional, well established breeding lines (Hampshire, Suffolk, and Rideau Arcott), a large commercial sheep flock, a small beef herd and a corn and soybean cash crop operation.
