I Welcome and Opening Remarks - Meeting called to order by William J. MacMillan, president.
II Adoption of Agenda - Motion to adopt the agenda as printed: Jerry Stubbings, seconded by Susan Drinkwater, carried.
III Minutes of previous meeting, October 29, 2005, were distributed. Acceptance moved by Jerry Stubbings, seconded by Susan Drinkwater, carried.
IV Business arising from last meeting:
Duncan McMillan has issued his Report on the 2005 North America Gathering. Duncan's Summation
V Treasurer's Report Harold distributed his Balance Sheet and pointed out the Branch's donations to the Clan Centre and to the MacMillan Cancer Fund (50 and 122 Pounds Sterling). Acceptance moved by Bill MacMillan, seconder Susan Drinkwater, carried.

VI Glengarry Highland Games Report: Harold will contact Jamie McCullough regarding the Branch's intention to set up a table in the Clans Building and to reserve parking space nearby.

VII Correspondence/Communication Report:
  • Veterans Memorial Highland Games-Spencerville, Saturday June 17, 2006.
  • The Friends of the Ruins celebrate the completion of the stabilization of the walls of St. Raphael's, Sunday June 25, 2006, at 6:30pm. The Brigadoons will sing the Burning of St Raphaels. Information:
  • The 30th ANNUAL Montreal Highland Games, Sunday, August 6, 2006
  • Duncan passed on some MacMillan t-shirts and souvenir pins not sold at the 2005 North America Gathering. These will be offered at our next games table.
  • Mike McMillen of the Clan MacMillan North Central States has added a genealogy startup help page to his MacMillan website.
VIII Book Committee Report: - Harold is continuing with his painstaking manual indexing and organization of the materials.
IX Events Planning

1) Glengarry Highland Games - Maxville: Volunteer assistance at the Clan MacMillan table will be needed. Please contact the secretary, Jerry Stubbings, if you can offer some time on Saturday, August 5, to meet and greet visitors. (613) 830-4769

2) Fergus Games: At the October 2005 meeting, it was agreed that if "a request were to come from a formative MacMillan group from the Fergus area, we would be very willing to provide all possible assistance". To date we have received no indication of any new branch being formed.

From the Glengarry & Ottawa Valley perspective, the consensus was that our aims would be well-served in supporting the Veterans Memorial Highland Games in Spencerville.

Carol MacMillan suggested that the branch should consider designing self-directed MacMillan-specific historic site day tours.
