Historic Sites Tour:
A tour of the Glengarry region, planned and co-ordinated by Hugh Reekie of the St. Andrews Society, is being offered. With this available, it was thought our potential participant base might be diminished and that we should hold off until we had an open field to work in.
(BUT; Please see item VIII, Events Planning - Annual Historic Sites Tour: "October 5 TBA Historical Car Tour")
||Treasurer's Report: Harold distributed copies of the current Balance Sheet.

- North Lanark Highland Games 2008 - Saturday August 23 - celebrating their 25th anniversary.

||Book Committee Report:
Harold MacMillan presented his thoughts regarding the content and organization of the third volume in the series of MacMillan books.
The feasibility of presenting the collected items in terms of family relations as opposed to placing them in time periods, irrespective of family, became the topic for a group discussion. The makeup of the collection seems to favour the latter system. A considerable amount of the material does not fall easily into family patterns and might have to be left out if that design were to be used. The general consensus seemed to be that Harold take the time frame path. (Let the reader sort out the families.)
Acceptance moved by Harold MacMillan, seconded by Wm J. MacMillan, carried.
Glengarry Highland Games - Maxville: Bill and Carol will be setting up the table and display in the Clans building. Additional support and relief volunteers will be solicited. The Clan Parade will likely be getting increased attention during the opening ceremonies so a strong turnout for the MacMillan contingent will be sought.
Harold suggested several individuals for parade and table duty and will make contact with them.
N.B. If you can offer some time on Saturday, August 2, to help in meeting and greeting clan table visitors at the Games, please contact Harold MacMillan at (613) 632-3045 or Jerry Stubbings at (613) 830-4769.
Please check in (preferably before 11:00 am) with Harold or the clan table for parade formation time and location.
Historic Sites Tour:
A fortuitous encounter between Harold MacMillan and Jennifer Black of the Historical Society resulted in a discussion of the Historical Society's annual Historical Site Tour. The Society had been planning "October 5 TBA Historical Car Tour", but with the departure of Lindsay Howes, were in need of help with final site contact details. Jennifer asked Harold if the Glengarry & Ottawa Valley branch would participate in the venture in this regard.
After some discussion, a motion was put forward by Susan Drinkwater to approve in principle the branch's participation, with final decisions at the discretion of the executive.
Acceptance moved by Harold MacMillan, seconded by Susan Drinkwater, carried.
