Stuart and Nancy McNair.
We left Richmond Hill on June 1, 2000. We didn't really have a plan other than to head westward across southern Canada until we ran out of land, then northward till we ran out of road, then back to Ontario staying as far north as we could. We guessed we would be away 4-5 months.
The spirit of our journey is to take back roads, go slow, meet people and get a sense of the land and the country. You might call it a spiritual journey since it has no outward goals or objectives. Even the inner goals are not defined - we just want to see what happens. Oh yeah, this is our first trip in an RV.

Actually we raced home in the pouring rain!!! After 3 months of casual drifting wherever our hearts desired, we ran into some heavy rain in Kluane - and it never stopped until we were within sight of the Ontario border! Day after day of unrelenting rain. It seemed to tell us it was time to head home and it coincided with our getting a severe case of homesickitis. We're glad this trip ended so abruptly, because it gives us lots more to do next year, when we strike out again.
We are glad we had a chance to share a few glimpses of our trip with you. If you'd like to drop us a line, please do.
