The Virtual Black Watch is based upon the historical Canadian infantry unit, The Black Watch (Royal Highlander Regiment) of Canada, which saw action in the Boer War, World War I, the infamous Dieppe raid of 1942, and many other battles of World War II and Korea. The Virtual Black Watch has been formed as an infantry unit in the service of the British Expeditionary Forces. We will also incorporate light armour, reconnaissance and engineering units as 'attachments' to the Regiment. We are currently holding Regimental Battle Drills (Practices) online in WWIIOL. Battle Drills are every Tuesday at 2130 EST (9:30pm Eastern Time) and Operations are held Thursdays at the same time. For additional information, please contact our Officer Commanding by e-mail or ICQ#27922382. Visit R.H.Q. for a personal note from the Officer Commanding and the Rules and Regulations of the Regiment, or take a tour of our Barracks to see who belongs to the Black Watch already. Drop by the Mess Hall for the latest scuttlebutt on WWII Online or the Regiment, or if youre in a more serious frame of mind, visit the Regimental Museum for a brief overview of the history of the real Black Watch. For links to other related web sites, go to Signals. The Battle Drill Training Grounds features explainations of tactics, communications protocols, and much more. If youre interested in joining our ranks, be sure to drop by our Recruitment Office. For additional general information about our attitudes and policies, or if you're a new recruit, be sure to read our Frequently Asked Quesions (FAQs). IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: No real names have been used by any members of the virtual Regiment. While we do have approval of The Black Watch (RHR) of Canada for the use of our name, our views do not necessarily reflect the opinions or documented history of the Regiment. No political statements contrary to any world government may be made by the virtual Regiment in the game. The real Black Watch reserves the right, at any time, to revoke the approval if they think that the game and/or representation of the Regiment demeans the Regiment in any way. The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada is a separate unit from the similarly named Black Watch of Scotland. The Virtual Black Watch of Canada currently has no association, formal or informal, with that unit. The views and opinions expressed by the creators of this website do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the RHC.
