And the batteries had to be replaced every week. Oh, well, she thought, reaching for the beautiful doll. It was worth it! She looked at the doll more closely. It had piercing green eyes and exquisite skin. It looked so real. She couldn't believe it would be hers in just a matter of minutes. She went to the cash register and took out her wad of bills.
