Will of Jacob Schneider

Jacob Schneider wrote his will on June 4, 1841.  While he spells his name "Snider" at the beginning, his signature at the end is "Schneider".  The will is registered under the name "Jacob Snider".

Jacob brought his family to Waterloo County in 1806, settling in Bloomingdale.  This is where Jacob died on Feb. 6, 1853.

Jacob appoints his two eldest sons Christian and Jacob as executors.  The Levi Bechtel who is living on some of Jacob's property is his son-in-law, husband of his youngest daughter Magdalena.  The witnesses are his youngest son Henry Snider and the husband of his niece Elizabeth, Jacob S. Shoemaker.

Jacob mentions his daughter Elizabeth, who was single and presumably unable to manage her own affairs.  However, she predeceased her father in 1848.  Jacob doesn't mention his wife Mary as she died in 1835, before this will was drafted.

In the Name of God Amen

I Jacob Snider, senior, of the Township of Waterloo in the County of Waterloo in the District of Wellington and province of Canada, Yeoman, being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following, That is to say,

And I do hereby Nominate, Constitute and Appoint in full power as my own person, My Son Christian J. Snider and my Son Jacob J.
