Waterloo Park yesterday witnessed the largest gathering of a family reunion in its history when 4,000 Shantz's from 12 states of the United States and three provinces of Canada attended the 1930 reunion of the Shantz Family Association. The reunion is the first to be held in 17 years, the last being held in 1913 in Victoria Park, Kitchener.

Opening with the doxology followed by a welcoming address by Ald. Fred Shantz of Preston, president of the association, shortly after 3 o'clock an hour program of speeches and song was held before the massed members of the association. Prior to the start of the program a panorama photograph was taken.

One minute of silence in memory of those who have passed away was observed.
