BATHING YOUR BIRD
Most birds like baths and it encourages them to preen their feathers which removes old loose feathers, dust and dead skin cells. You can try and spray them with a clean fine mist of room temperature water from a plant sprayer you can buy at most Canadian Tire or Nursery stores. Spray them a little bit, 3 or 4 squirts maybe every second day for the first 3 or 4 times until they get used to it. They may try and get away at first so until they understand what it is, it is better to only spray a bit for the first week or two. Do not just soak them the first time as this may frighten them. In time most birds get used to it and you can increase the amount of spray each time. If you sense they severely do not like it than do not continue doing it. If they do not like the spray, you may be better off placing a shallow tray or dish in for them to bath in when they want to. Not all birds like to bath, but most do.
