Nurses are an important part of the clinical management team. In the context of community hospitals, it will be mainly specialisation in geriatric and rehabilitation nursing. Our senior nurses train junior nurses, ward assistants and health attendants. In line with the general trend to make nurses more skilled, senior staff nurses take on supervisory and specialised clinical work. Ang Mo Kio Community hospital has nurses with post-basic nursing certificates eg Gerontology, Orthopaedic, Psychiatric, Neurology, Community Nursing, ICU, Operating Theatre. We also have diabetic, stoma, urinary incontinence and wound management trained nurses. AMK-THKH is also a training centre for the Basic Cardiac Life Saving Course (BCLS), On-the-Job Training (OJT) scheme which is certified by ITE and the Skills Redvelopment.
