PICTURES - BAD KÖNIG

This is a painting of the town of König (now known as Bad König) from around 1843.  Note the Protestant church in the left side of the picture (the building with the steeple).  This scene would have been familiar to the Orth family who lived nearby in the village of Fürstengrund.

A picture of the present-day town of Bad König, Hessen, in the Odenwald district of Germany. The village of Fürstengrund is now a part of Bad König although it is still separated by a couple of kilometers of rural land.

This is a picture of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bad König, Hessen, Germany. From available evidence, this appears to have been the church which the Orth family most likely attended while living in the nearby village of  Fürstengrund.
