The MadriGALS' debut recording, Alchemy, is available on CD or cassette. The recording showcases the bewitching three-part a cappella harmonies GALS' fans have come to love, and features sweet-sounding madrigals by composers such as Thomas Morley, Thomas Weelkes and Henry VIII, and lively catches by John Isham and Henry Purcell.
Alchemy was released in November 1998 and was nominated for two awards at the 1999 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA's): Best Classical Album and Best Classical Song (for "Good Morrow Fair Ladies of the May"). Since then, Alchemy has been played from coast to coast on the CBC as well as on classical stations CJRT and CFMX.
