I no longer stock apple trees, and I don't have any current information about who might carry these varieties. I have left this section of the Web site here for reference purposes.

Flowering Crabapple Trees

What's a "zone"?

There are thousands of different apple varieties available. We usually stock most of the varieties listed below. From our own experience, and from the experience of other local growers, we know which varieties to be hardy in the area. Many varieties that you see in stores (Fiji, Granny Smith) will definitely not survive in this area.

All apples are grafted on semi-dwarf rootstock, giving a mid-size tree. We find that dwarf rootstock isn’t quite hardy enough for the area. Dwaf varieties also need to be staked for their entire lifetime.

General rules for pruning apples: prune in late winter, before buds begin to swell.

Also see our descriptions of flowering crabapples: many of them are also edible.
