The 1871 Ontario census for Cardwell Caledon identifies a William Glassford age 20. He was born in Ontario and a farmer. In addition the record identifies that he died between April 3 1870 and April 2 1871. Microfilm ref# C-9958. he was also identified as a member of the Canada Presbyterian Church.
The relationship has been established based on the location a at the time of the census and the Church membership.
The parental relationship has been assumed based on the common town i.e. Campbeltown, to David Glassford son of Daniel and Mary (extract ref. 9253770) the extract ref. for this individual is 10828804.
William is identified in the 1901 British Columbia Census for Vancouver City and Coastal District as being born in June 7, 1873 This is believed to be a typo on the records as his actual date of birth is June 7 1883.

At that time  the law in force gave the eldest son power to settle an estate. William Glassford was given the land now known as the Craig farm and afterwards sold it to a Scotchman named MacMillan who later in 1856 sold it to the Grandfather of Andrew Craig who had come from Jedbury(?) Scotland.

William attendedc Long Island College Hospital in 1898 and appeared in the Physicians registrry January 24/1902 for King's County NY He was registred to practice medicine and surgury in Westchester County, NY July 17, 1902 and on June 10, 1910 was registrered in Nassau County NY.
He died at sea off Barbados in the Carbbian while he was actting as ship's doctor.
There is some difference of opinion about the spelling of the the name as in the 1881 + 1891 census returns and in legal documents related to her sister Eliza estate and her brother Henry's birthday book it is Christian, the family bible lists it as Christiana and in other sourses it is Christina. She was also known to the family as Chrissie and occassionaly as ane as she looked like her aunt Jane.
