Some Piano Pieces

Played by:   Georg Werner Josephs

On a:  Yamaha DGX 505 (Lighter Action)

Using the High Sensitivity (Soft) Setting

Note:

Midi files were recorded using USB In and USB Out.

What this means is that they were recorded at twice the sensitivity level of the “high sensitivity” (soft) level, since the signals were processed twice; once going into the computer (USB In) , and another time going back out (USB Out) to the Yamaha DGX 505.

Possible combinations of USB In’s and Out’s and keyboard sensitivities.

Keyboard Sensitivity  USB In            USB Out         Sensitivity Level

Hard                            Yes                  Yes                  2

Medium                       Yes                  Yes                  4

Soft                             Yes                  Yes                  6

Hard                            Yes                  No                   1

Medium                       Yes                  No                   2

Soft                             Yes                  No                   3

As you can see, sensitivity level 5 is inaccessible.

The midi files below were recorded at a variety of sensitivities.

Clearly, sensitivities of beyond 3 are synthetically created while recording, using a computer.
