GPS track plotter for Google Earth
Bungee connects your GPS receiver and camera to Google Earth.
Connect and Display
- Display and Record a real-time position and track (NMEA Log)
- Download, Save and Display tracks and waypoints from your Garmin GPS receiver.
- Open and Display saved tracks and waypoints in any of several standard file formats.
- View flight paths in 3-D, or ground tracks clamped to the terrain, or display speed as false-altitude. View track altitude together with a ground shadow, or with the track extruded to ground.
- Explore your track from any point of view and review trackpoint details such as Latitude, Longitude, altitude, speed, date and time.
- View live APRS positions received from a serial TNC Radio Modem.
Photo Link-n-Sync
- Display the digital photographs you captured along the way.
- See EXACTLY where and when you recorded your photos.
- Your photos are not modified.
- Any time zone difference or camera-time error can be easily corrected.
Playback
- Follow an existing track or NMEA Log at actual speed or compressed time from a "chase camera" positioned anywhere above, behind, beside or ahead of the target at any distance - and Pause, Fast Forward, Fast Reverse, Repeat
Communicate
- Upload Google Earth Placemarks as Waypoints to your Garmin GPS receiver.
- Publish positions and tracks to a remote server using the integrated FTP client.
- Zip the whole record, photos and all, using the Google Earth KMZ feature.
Compatibility
- Bungee uses the serial COM port to operate with any GPS receiver conforming to NMEA-0183 v2.0 (Garmin, Magellan, Lowrance, Eagle and many others)
- Bungee uses the USB interface to download Tracks from Garmin eTrex Legend HCx, eTrex Vista HCx, 60Cx, 60CSx, 76Cx, 76CSx, Colorado, Oregon and Nuvi receivers
- Bungee uses the serial COM port and the proprietary Garmin protocol to download Tracks and Waypoints from non-USB Garmin receivers: eTrex Legend, Venture, Vista, Summit, GPS-12 and all others.
- Bungee uses the serial COM port to communicate with a TNC radio modem (APRS)
- Bungee links and synchronizes photographs recorded in JPG (jpeg) format, and will correct any errors due to time zone differences or camera clock setting.
- Bungee is compatible with all versions of Google Earth. Download Google Earth now.
- Source data is translated and saved by Bungee in KML format.
- Tracks and Placemarks/Waypoints can be read from and saved in PLT, GPX, NMEA, WPT or CSV file formats.
- Bungee reads all GPX files.
- Bungee accepts international number syntax and date/time formats.
System Requirements
- Bungee runs on Windows 2000, XP and Vista.
- Bungee requires about 1MB of disk space (not including any track/point files you create or import).
- Bungee is provided as a self-extracting executable. Download, save and run the BungeeSetup.exe program provided here.
