TO THE DESCENDANTS OF ANDREW HAMILTON
AND LILLIAN DAY
GENERAL:
The "Miss Wilson" identified in my last
Newsletter as attending the 1946 reunion is now thought to be Marion
Day Wilson, daughter of James Robert Wilson and Grace Taylor. Bill
Hamilton made this connection but thought she may have died in 1938, however
on checking with Glenn Wilson, he has her death date as 12 March 1950.
He says that she lived with her Grandfather (Grace Taylor's father),
Joseph Taylor in the Burnstown area and, at the time of her death, was living
with Grace (McLean) and Garfield Richardson. Grace McLean's parents
were Hannah Lucy Wilson (Marion's sister) and Robert McLean. Since
Marion Day Wilson was born 6 April 1861, she would have been about
85 at the time of the reunion. Grace Taylor's mother was Isabella
Kennedy.

You will note that there was no Mrs. Gillispie (or Gillespie) shown as attending
either the 1945 or
1946 reunions. The 4th person shown in the picture in the December
2004 Newsletter, therefore,
is probably not a Mrs. Gillespie but rather, Mrs. David T. Hamilton
(as identified by Bill Hamilton).
The people in this picture are: 1) John Hamilton; 2) James Hamilton;
3) Rev. W. T. Hamilton;
4) Jean (Hamilton) Gillespie; 5) Mary (Hamilton) Lebarron; 6) Mrs. John
Forrest (Mary Park
Hamilton); 7) Althea Hamilton. These pictures are believed to have
been taken at a gathering
(reunion?) in about 1936.
FROOD:
I recently received some information from Jack Earwaker on the Frood family.
He sent me the info that was in the Newsletters Volume 4 Number
1 and Volume 4 Number 6. He has provided some corrections on the early
generations which I will try to include in my next Newsletter.
