Cold Barn Morris Dancers

The most fun you can have in public without getting arrested!

Come join us for a quick history of Hamilton's Cold Barn and Morris dancing in general.

Check out our calendar of upcoming performances and events or come to see a few photos from our recent gigs and learn a bit about Cats on Fire and the Cambridge Splinters.

Who are we?

You may be sorry you asked!

The Dancers!

Roy, our Foreman.
Roy first experienced Morris dancing while working as an explorer in the early 17th century.
In the intervening 300 years he has honed and polished his craft, training many an eager student.

Leora Nelson, our Squire.
After arriving on earth, Leora set about her plans for world domination. She's still working on it.

Roger
Roger.
Along with Roy, Roger is a founding member of Cold Barn Morris.
This event took place after many a pint of beer and seemed like a good idea at the time

Sheelagh.
As one of the longest serving members of Cold Barn, Sheelagh is a survivor.
When she is not dancing, Sheelagh raises goats and horses in her house.

Erika
Erika is one of the 2 members responsible for taking Cold Barn into a third generation of dancers.

Kirsten
Kirsten is the other Morris mum.

Kirsten
Kirsten, not to be confused with Kirsten, found that the best way to overcome Morris injury was by taking up triathlon.

Phil

Phil brings the expertise of a professional aerospace engineer to Morris dancing and we're still not sure if that's a good thing.

Barb

Barb is our bag, which is a good thing! A Morris bag handles all the money and pays the beer tab. We're glad that Barb's an accountant!

Bob

As an escapee from Bedlam, Bob likes to go cow tipping and is often found in university pubs.

Eva

Being a non-drinker, we're still not sure how Eva got into Morris!

Brian

Musician, dancer, photographer...Brian's still not sure what he'll do when he grows up.

James (aka Hamish)

James can think, write and speak in multiple computer languages as well as cuneiform.

Brenna

Adds that teenage je ne sais quoi to CBM

Lori, Stef & Gabi

Best way to get more dancers? Recruit a family!

Steph

Some think she came here from England to study but we know it's really to dance!

People we still need photos from....

No, you're not forgotten...

The Outer Court

Linda

We stole Linda from Boston's Red Herrings (and we're working on signing up her upcoming baby as well!)

Mara

Keeps the Elf out of trouble.

Jeff K

Another Ringer we occasionally borrow from Boston's Red Herrings

Our Musicians!

Paul R

Cold Barn's long time fiddler. Paul is also known as an artisan of fine woodwork and as the original builder of the pyramids.

Jeff B & Sandy (Twin Bassoons)

The first known bassoon player in the Morris, Jeff was traded to Cold Barn for David Beckham and a first round draft pick.

Sandy's recent arrival proved that two bassoons are better than one!

Pumpkin

What can we say about Pumpkin that hasn't already been said?!?

Tom

Shhhh, don't tell Orange Peel Morris that we borrow him from time to time!

Carolyn

You can't beat Carolyn's drum (or she'll thump you!)

Paul S

Paul may say he was coaxed, coerced, cajoled and corralled into playing accordion for us but we know he stays for the beer!
