The Cabinet "Herzog 740"
Back to the Accessories
Some Herzog cabinets were made to convert external-horn disc or cylinder machines to look more like Victrola piece of furniture. This one, issued in 1908 and called the "Cyclo-Phone" was the No 740 in their catalog. Here, with a Columbia Graphophone Type AZ. it was found without front grill. It has been carved using a small color print of a similar cabinet obtained from a cooperative collector.
This picture comes from the "Antique Phonograph: Gadgets, Gizmos & Gimmicks" book written by Timothy C. Fabrizio and George F. Paul. It can be ordered at: PHONOPHAN
