The Celeste
Back to the Pathe phonographs
Issued in 1900, this is the second and cheapest version of this unique machine playing the famous "Celeste" cylinders. With the same diameter than the Concert ones they are twice as long, playing 4M when the Concert were playing 2M. But, some Celeste cylinders have 50 grooves per inch and, then, only playing 2M. It is difficult to understand this policy from the Pathe company. Here, with an "Orpheus" attachment and floating horn and reproducer.
