Made out of a Columbia Graphophone Type QQ (2nd version), the type Q with a lid, the Language Phone was dedicated for the learning of foreing languages.  With the decal banner, the only other modification of the machine are the two fixtures to secure the lid.  They replace the two long plunger screws manipulated from the top of the lid as on the original Columbia Graphophones.
