Information

This open summit is in the middle of the Great Range. Many trails allow a day hike from Keene Valley (The Garden's parking area) or St-Hubert (near the Ausable Club). It's often the choice of hikers that have already done Algonquin Peak and Giant Mt.. All trails here are more difficult than those of the 2 other summits. The most spectacular access is by its West side following the Orebed Brook Trail up to the Col between Saddleback Mt. and Gothics from where begin a steep ascent using 2 cables of nearly 100 feet on bare section of the trail. By its South side two trails, the Beaver Meadows Trail and the Alfred E. Weld Trail, allowed making a great loop. Booth of them passes near spectacular waterfalls. The last approach is along the ADK Range Trail that starts from the Keene Valley side and goes over two summits before reaching Gothics, named Upper Wolf Jaw Mt. and Armstrong Mt.. This trail can also be reached from the St-Hubert side by following the Wedge Brook Trail up to the Col between Upper Wolf Jaw Mt. and Lower Wolf Jaw Mt..
