This open summit has a long ridge that starts just pass the junction with Algonquin Peak. Just before the summit, on the North side, there is a commemorative plate of the 1962 crash of a B-47 bomber aircraft. From the summit, on the South side, you get a fine viewpoint of the long ridge leading to Algonquin Peak. You can even follow the ascent of hikers along the trail. On the North side, you have a great view of the Lake Placid Valley.
