Panther Peak

Panther's summit 90-08-25

Log Book and Benchmark 90-08-25

This trail less peak has a large rock section just before reaching the real summit with a viewpoint toward the Southwest. This is the second highest summit of the Santanoni Range that also include Santanoni Peak and Couchsachraga Peak. These three summits can be done as a very long day trip. These summits share a common starting point call "Time Square". This is where you have to pass each time you return from one of the summit before getting to the next one. From Panther Peak, we get a good idea of all the distance that separated all the 3 summits. From Time Square, it's required only 15 minutes to get to Panther Peak. This trail is muddy and needed only a small descent before the real ascent.
