Equivalent Uniform Distributed Blast Load

Developed by a consulting structural engineer with over 40 years of experience in Blast Design and programming.
This software determines the dynamic UDL for a roof or side wall element of a building subject to blast load.
The actual load of an element spanning in the direction of the shock front velocity, varies in intensity along the length of the beam at any given time.
Dynamic structural analysis for this type of load is very complex, and can not be employed using the SDOF method.
The equivalent UDL load is constant along the beam at any given time.
This load can be used in a SDOF analysis.
Obviously, the intensity of the blast load in general varies with time.

Imperial or metric units are allowed.
The algorithm is not based upon the US ARMY manual T-5 1300.
The method used in this software is purely structual, and does not depend upon the type of explosion (shock wave or pulse wave).
For each small time increment, the actual blast load upon the element is calculated (considering decay of the intensity of the pressures at points along the beam with a larger separation distance), and the equivalent uniform distributed load at this time is determined, based upon equal bending moment (deflection) at the center of the element.

It is the simplest and most powerful design tool of this kind available at a very low cost.
