Welcome to me little page in cyberspace. Here, I've created a web page on something that has been a very enjoyable activity, that being CASCAR Stock Car Racing!! At local tracks across Canada, Canadian drivers have been providing an incredible display of racing. My main interest is the CASCAR Super Series, but I have enjoyed the Power Water Sportsman series, which is the feeder series for the Super Series. The series has had various divisions, and used to include a West Series, National and Eastern Series, which has now blended into the National Series, with usually two races out west, and the West Series, which also includes racing at the two National Series events. I have attended as many of the races as I can, from my home base in the Toronto area, and have not been disappointed by any of them. I've been as far east as Trois Rivieres in Quebec, and out to western Ontario, to the Peterborough area for racing at Mosport, Kawartha, and Peterborough Speedway. The Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres was an incredible experience for me in 2006. The people of the town are totally into the sport, and not just as an event (like Moslon Toronto Indy), but as race fans. At the Indy, it would seem most are there to be there, not because they particularily like racing. But GP3R puts on a great show. I also enjoyed the Montreal Indy, as that was the first time I had been to the home of the Canadian F1 race. CASCAR, and their drivers, have done an incredible job of providing excellent racing action, with great access to the drivers and teams, and all this for an incredibly small price. Before every race, the pits are opened up to the fans, to wander among both the cars and the drivers. All the drivers are great with meeting and greeting with the fans. No other sport has the kind of access that stock car racing does. Please feel free to browse around the site. If you have any questions, or if you notice anything wrong with the site, please send me an email, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you get lost, click on the picture at the upper left corner, it will take you back here! For more information, please visit the OFFICIAL CASCAR site, or, for more information on the teams/series out west, visit the CASCAR WEST site!
Well, the above was my site on Cascar, but late into the 2006 season, it was officially announced that Nascar had bought the Cascar series. It is now the Canadian Tire Nascar Series, with Canadian Tire being the official sponser of the series. Unfortunately, this meant the demise of the Sportsman and West Cascar series. The west has set up a series to allow those with Cascar style racecars to run. And in Ontario, the sportsman group has created the Ontario Sportsman Series, allowing the Ontario sportsman teams to race at some local southern ontario tracks.
