After much research and thinking I created this model of creativity. It combines the best of scientific, business, and artistic understandings of how creativity works.
Of course, we don't progress around the cycle in the same way every time. We typically bounce back and forth and engage multiple stages simultaneously.
Sometimes people feel stuck when they do not recognize the stage of the cycle they are in - and consequently do not know where to focus their energy and attention. This model of creativity helps you understand ‘where you are at’ in the creative cycle, and also where to apply your focus in any stage, to move the whole process forward.
This material can be configured for a one-day workshop or a half-dozen coaching sessions. The ideas quickly become powerfully self-evident and do not need much reinforcement.
